UTT

LASMIS

The research areas of the Laboratory of Mechanical Systems and Concurrent

Engineering include the integrated design of mechanical systems and manufacturing processes through a global approach.

The integration of tools and methods is based on the work carried out in the fields of :

experimental methods for strain analysis

experimental methods for strain analysis

theoretical tools (optimisation), numerical tools, (structure and damage calculations)and geometrical tools (meshing) for the modelling of mechanical systems.

The laboratory develops mechanical characterisation techniques for fatigue, wear and friction. Its work also includes research into surface treatments, metal forming and composite materials.

LM2S

The main research theme of the System Modelling and Dependability Laboratory (LM2S) is "system dependability".This theme has been chosen on the basis of the following criteria:research areas having priority at a national and a European level scientific themes relevant and consistent with the general UTT orientations and the fields of expertise of our staff.

Three research areas have been selected for the laboratory:

decision and diagnosis in a non-stationary environment stochastic models for reliability and maintenance control of dynamic environment by cognitive reasoning and intelligent agents.

LNIO

Nanotechnology comprises a set of techniques enabling observation, analysis, fabrication, machining, manipulation and control of structures with nanometric dimensions.

It is considered to be a major scientific branch for the beginning of this new century, in light of the numerous applications in a variety of fields such as chemistry, mechanics, biology, ultraprecise machining and the vast field of integrated devices, to which optoelectronic, microelectronic components and microsystems are associated.

In the last ten years, a brand new branch of Science has emerged : the nanosciences.

LOSI

The Industrial Systems Optimisation laboratory specialises in manufacturing systems and associated logistics. It is a particularly promising area because of the organisational evolution of manufacturing and logistic systems giving rise to new and relevant issues.

The objective of the laboratory is to develop optimisation and decision-aiding tools based on mathematical analysis and simulation.

The laboratory aim is to become one of the major world-recognised research centres in this field. To achieve this a substantial investment in researchers and equipment has been made.

The laboratory has attracted a considerable number of young and dynamic members expert in operations research and decision-aid. It has become one of the most important research centres in this field in France.

Powerful computer systems and software packages have been installed.

Tech-CICO

Founded in 1998, Tech-CICO embraces researchers from several disciplines such as Artificial Intelligence, Management, Sociology and Linguistics.

Researchers aim together at studying and modelling cooperative activities that use new technologies of information and communication. Functioning and decision making are analysed on cooperative and distributed environments, especially where new technologies of communication are used such as network and telecom.
