Invited by college of life science of Shanghai University, deputy Professor Ji Rurong from medical college of Harvard University delivered a special topic report on “Ache and plasticity” on Mar.30th. Nearly 60 teachers and students attended.
    The report was contented with both theoretic explanation and vivid example analysis and with wide range and profundity. Firstly he gave an account about the layout and scale, science and research environment, academic atmosphere and finance of medical college of Harvard University. Combining his academic research findings, Ji explained the concept of ache, realistic significance of research on ache and its important status in life science in a simple way, vividly demonstrating the hot spot and current development in the field of research on ache. He emphasized that we should look at clinic ache dialectically, which was an essential protective signal as well as affliction on human body. The report raised warm repercussion among teachers and students attended.
    After the lecture, Ji visited the nerve pharmacology laboratory in Hongguang base in the company of deputy dean Ji Yonghua. Ji spoke highly of the scientific and research work of the laboratory and expressed over and again that the campus and people of Shanghai University left him a good impression.
