Sponsored by national natural foundation commission and Shanghai Baogang Group Company, the exchange meeting of national project “joint research steel foundation” was held in our university on Mar.23rd. Wang Zizhong from engineering and material department of national natural foundation commission, Zhang Yongjie, superintendent of equipment department of Baogang institute, Jiang Laizhu, superintendent of stainless steel department of Baogang institute, Di Qijie, assistant president of Shanghai University, Shi Liyi, director of science and research department and other scholars and experts from the field of steel metallurgy attended the meeting. Deputy headmaster Wang Ming delivered the welcome address. He appreciated the consistent support from national natural foundation commission in the school’s basic research work and deeper cooperation between the two sides, which brought about new research information and achievements to my university.
    Then Zhu Weitong from planning bureau and Shi Shenghong from scientific & technological department gave an account about the promotion of the steel industry by the foundation. 15 item teams from respective college showed their advances.
    The meeting enabled the attendants to see the newest development of the concerned project, which also advanced deeper research on them. It provided a comprehensive understanding of the development prospects of China steel industry and opportunity of close exchange for domestic well-known scholars and experts, which will make its due contribution to the national steel industry.
