Professor Klaus von Klitzing, Nobel Prize winners in physics, made a lecture in our university at invitation.

Sept.25,2006

More than 400 college students flowed into the auditorium to see Professor Klaus von Klitzing(Nobel Prize winners in physics) and appreciate his great charm in the afternoon on Sept.20.

At about 3, Professor Klaus von Klitzing received enthusiastic applause when he stepped up onto the platform briskly and greeted to the professors and students. Then professor Zhou Weichen, vice president of Shanghai University, came all the way in person to issue him the certificate of emeritus professor of Shanghai University. Professor Klaus von Klitzing was awarded Nobel Prize in 1985 for his discovery of quantum Hall effect in MOSFET (metal-oxides-semiconductor field effect transistor.

Professor Klaus von Klitzing introduced Einstein's Nobel Prize and modern nano-lectronics. nano-lectronics was based on the newest physic theory and the most advanced craft. It constructed the electronic system according to whole new theory and therefore achieved the revolutionary breakthrough in collecting and processing information.

t the end of lecture, the students attended actively raised question. Professor Klaus von Klitzing made a detailed reply to each question. He mentioned that Nobel Prize had not altered his research work and that scientific research called for consistence and diligence. He hoped the college students attended explored the unknown word by relying on themselves, keeped their curiosity and cultivated courage of engaging in scientific research.

To thank the enthusiastic audience, Professor Klaus von Klitzing showed his Nobel Prize medal. He sent his best wish that there would be future award winner of Nobel Prize among the audience.
