Announced by the organization department of Shanghai municipal committee of the Communist Party of China and bureau of personnel, professor Li Youmei, Wang Ming, Di Qijie and Li Chunfang were selected in the project of the leading people of talent of Shanghai. There were 108 people in all selected in the project concerning the fields of propaganda, science and technology, education, sanitation, national capital, finance and port transportation.
    To adapt to the economic and social development and the construction of an innovative city and to follow the strategy of developing the city by relying on science and education, Shanghai planed to construct an elite team with high quality in thought and morality, advanced academic and technological level and widely recognition from professional circles. Many academicians of the Chinese Academy of Science and Chinese Academy of Engineering, millions of people of talent and experts had joined the team. The Shanghai municipal government had set up a special foundation for the project. Our university would also did its best to create a favorable environment for its development.
   The achievement made by the team would inspire our students and professors greatly and created a favorable environment for respect knowledge, talents and innovation.
